  1. In a shallow bowl, combine garlic, salt, pepper and oil & stir.
  2. Add tomatoes and basil.
  3. Toss gently and set aside.
  4. Cut bread in half, lengthwise. Or cut bread into slantwise pieces.
  5. Spoon tomatoes onto each half and drizzle with remaining oil (if desired sprinkle with cheese).
  6. Broil until golden brown – cut and serve immediately.
